Tokenized stocks, stablecoin payment economics and hardware wallet security led the late session.

Binance's bStocks passed $1 billion. Binance said its tokenized U.S. equity product has topped $1 billion in assets since launching in June. Rwa.xyz data cited by Unchained put bStocks at about $1.2 billion, ahead of Ondo and xStocks among tokenized stock platforms. The distinction matters: the tokens are not shares and are offered only to non-U.S. persons under an Abu Dhabi prospectus. Binance says the product can be used for margin and futures collateral by eligible users, which makes the structure relevant to crypto market plumbing as well as the tokenized-equity narrative.

The headline does not settle the risk question. The article notes that bStocks are issued through a Binance subsidiary and that a research review of their use as collateral raised questions about issuer exposure. Scale is a useful signal, but it is not a substitute for understanding custody, redemption and counterparty terms.

Stablecoin remittances showed lower quoted costs. A Borderless.xyz report cited by Cointelegraph put the median cost of sending a $200 stablecoin-funded remittance at 1%, or $2, versus 6.36%, or $12.72, for traditional transfers in its comparison. The report also said local payouts settled in a median of two to three minutes across Brazil, Mexico and Colombia. The data points to an everyday payment use case for stablecoins, separate from trading or yield.

There are important limits. The traditional-remittance benchmark uses World Bank figures from the prior year, and payment completion rates varied by local rail. Cost and speed only become useful when recipients can reliably move funds into local bank accounts.

Ledger hardware-wallet reports remain disputed. Mark Karpelès said he found alleged spy implants in Ledger devices bought through resellers in Singapore and Germany, including a Flex and a Nano X. Ledger said devices it inspected from German retail and distributor stock showed no sign of tampering and that it had not examined the units shown online. The accounts therefore remain contested, but the episode is a practical reminder to buy hardware from trusted channels, inspect packaging and treat unexplained device behavior as a security event.

For DeFi users, the risk is not limited to a single wallet brand. The point of failure can sit in distribution, setup or recovery handling before a transaction reaches a protocol.
